The reality of this whole ‘healthy-living’ lifestyle is that sometimes there are bumps in the road, sometimes you just can’t bring yourself to put dinner on the table and you order a pizza. Some weeks you can’t get that workout in, it is just impossible with busy schedules, sleep deprivation, and other priorities like paying bills and feeding your family. This is called life, and you shouldn’t apologize for it, you just get back on the horse the next day, or the next week and do the best you can. I know some people might think my life is perfect and that we always eat healthy foods, and we never miss workouts, and my kids smile all day. None of that is true, at least not every day. But I do keep trying, that is definitely my goal, but it rarely all happens in the same day. Those days when food is healthy, everyone worked out and kids are smiling are super special days and you must have crappy days to appreciate the special days.
I guess I’m saying give yourself a break, not an ice cream every night break, but if you are too tired to smile then maybe you skip that workout, or order take out and give yourself a break so you feel like cooking a healthy well-rounded meal the next day. Being healthy is a lifestyle change, and sometimes we slip slide back into our unhealthy ways and that is cool, just get back up the next day and try again. Try, try again.
